About your trip

Witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration on an immersive safari through Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem, where over two million wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in an epic cycle of survival. This journey places you at the heart of the action, offering a front-row seat to dramatic river crossings and predator-prey encounters as the herds move across the vast savanna. Guided by experts and staying in strategically located camps, you will experience the raw power of the world’s largest land mammal migration, capturing the quintessential spirit of the African wild.

We Aren't for Everyone

I’ll be straight with you–I like to travel with positive, optimistic, fun-loving, flexible people who can roll with the punches. Travel can be a tough experience sometimes. Bad weather, strikes, and overcooked pasta are all hazards we face. If you get cranky when things aren’t perfect and will be upset about spotty wifi, I’m not your girl.

On the other hand, if you’re an easy-going type who doesn’t complain, can walk reasonably well, can manage luggage, and wants to see other cultures as they really are–warts and all– I think we are going to get along just fine. Bonus points if you like wine and having fun with a bunch of new friends. I promise to give you a rich, empowering, enlightening experience no matter where I take you. Girl Scout’s honor.

Itinerary

Day 1

Our journey begins in the vibrant coastal hub of Dar es Salaam. After settling into our hotel, we’ll gather for a welcome meeting to set the stage for the wild days ahead. It’s the perfect time to meet your fellow travelers, share a meal, and toast to the beginning of a truly unique Tanzanian chapter.

Day 2

After breakfast, transfer to DAR Airport for flight to Mwanza. Meet your guide at Mwanza Airport and transfer to Little Okavango Camp through the unusual city of Mwanza known as the “Rock City”, due to its huge boulders scattered across the wider landscape. Arrive at the intimate Little Okavango Camp located in the Serengeti wetlands and close to Lake Victoria. Later in the evening, take a gentle boat ride through the local channels around camp.

Day 3

This morning, explore the fishing village of Mwabulugu along Lake Victoria coastline. You'll return by motorboat, for a delightful breakfast back at the camp.In the afternoon meet a girls’ netball team at their academy. See their pre-match practice, meet the girls, and hear about their dreams. Share lunch with the squad and coaches, then cheer from the bench or join in during the afternoon game matchLater in the evening drive to Kijereshi Game Reserve for a fabulous bush dinner before driving back to the camp for your overnight rest.

Day 4

Today after an early breakfast you will drive north-east towards the Mara River. Enter the Serengeti via the Machochwe gate before reaching the Bush Rover Migration Camp, a private and unique safari camp. You'll stay in converted Land Rovers with a rooftop tent, allowing the camp to move and follow the migration path. Later after lunch, head for a fantastic afternoon game drive in this Wildebeest Migration rich zone.

Days 5 and 6

Enjoy thrilling safaris in this game rich area of Serengeti and marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world – the great wildebeest migration. Return to the camp after your game drives, relax in the mess tent or from the balcony of your Bush Rover suite and take in the surroundings before heading to the campfire for a sundowner and dinner prepared by your private chef.

Day 7

After breakfast, say goodbye to the Bush Rover Migration Camp and leave for another game drive from North / South to the Central Serengeti where game viewing is fantastic year-round. The Central Serengeti is known for its notable population of big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, which are often spotted on safari. Enjoy full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes finishing at Tanzania Bush Camp.

Day 8

Today you will game drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro conservation area via Naabi gate. On the way you will stop-by at the Maasai boma for a cultural tour. Continue with a drive through the crater rim with a fabulous view of the crater from the top finishing at Pakulala Tented Camp.

Day 9

After an early breakfast, drive down into the Ngorongoro crater which holds the greatest concentration of wildlife in Africa. It is difficult to believe that you are in the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, a 300 square kilometers expanse housing some 30,000 animals. Early morning in the crater can be quite magical and is worth getting up extra early for. Head back to the camp for lunch and relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 10

Our tour ends this morning with a transfer to the Arusha airport. Those continuing on to our extension on the island of Zanzibar will fly to Zanzibar and transfer to our hotel.
